This just in, we have received reports that all the inhabitants of the eastern world have disappeared. The cause of this mystery is unknown, could it be that they nuked themselves? could it be a stray asteroid? Or could it be aliens, and if so why just the eastern world? Thanks Tom. I have no idea whats going on either, but there is one thing for certain All three americas now rule the world. Treaties are now being held to divy up the land of the east.

Two altar boys are sitting in a pew
on the altar, They are both looking kind
of bored.

[whisper] Hey Jeff how much longer do we have?

Jeff
[whisper] OK Tom have we taken the Eucharist yet?

Then we are not even close! jeez how many times do I have to tell you?

OK, OK im sorry. I am just so bored.

Jeff
Me too... Hey watch this. [caughs intentionally]

After a few minutes the intentional caughs start a series
of coughs through out the church. The boys start to giggle lights fade.

return from space

lights come up on seven men
walking on a platform to
meet the people.

Astronaut 1
its about time we got down here its been like 5 years.

Astronaut 2
yeah I cant wait to get my hands on a burger and some fries, I am tired of that toothpaste crap.

Astronaut 3
I cant wait to see the misses... If ya know what I mean. [chuckles a little]

Probably not, back to the same boring lives we have always had I'm guessing.

Nope I beg to differ. We are going to be greeted as hero's, and given whole bunches of money and we will live like kings and queen for the rest of our days.

You guys don't miss the ship at all? [they shake there heads no] I do, I want nothing more than to go back up there. [sigh]

The are greeted by the crowd lights fade.

Death comes

Lights come up on a man
sitting in an old comfy
looking chair reading a
book in front of a fire place.
the lights flash and the fire blows
out. lights dim and death walks into
the room.

Man
Hey who turned out the lights I'm trying to read here!

Death
I am Death, your time has come.

Man
What! Why did you have to blow out the fire man now its gonna get cold, and I cant finish my book! I had like five pages left and thanks to you I cant finish it!

Death
I am Death, your time has come.

Man
You are very rude you know that! your lucky I am not going to call the police! Now, I am going to ask you nicely to leave so that I may continue reading.

Death
I am Death... ugh never mind!

Death touches the mans shoulder
the man keels over dead. lights
fade.

If the button is pushed

Lights come up on the
president sitting behind
his desk bored. His
advisor is sitting across
the room sleeping in a
comfy chair.

President
Hmmm... I wonder what would happen if I pushed the button?

The president leans down
to the bottom most
drawer and pulls out a
black suitcase.

President
Okay I just need to open it.

He inserts his key, then
tiptoes quietly over to
his advisor and steals
the other key and
rushes back to the desk.
He inserts the other key
and turns them both at
the same time. The
suitcase opens.

President
Okey dokey Here goes nothing.

He pushes the button .
red lights start to flash
And sirens sound. lights
black out and after a few
seconds slowly come up.
the president, sleeping
bolts upright panting.

President
What a horrible dream!

He lays back down. lights
fade.

Dont leave a trace

Lights come up on two
soldiers digging a hole
there is a body on the
ground next to them.

barry
he was my neighbor you know.

Caleb
Really... Im sorry man I knew you guys were close friends.

Barry
[chokes up a little] We were ambushed... He was shot twice but we got them. he died in my arms...

Caleb
Its not your fault barry, there is nothing you could have done-

Barry
Not true! I could have jumped in front of the bullets!

They finishe burying
him with out another
word, the grave has no
marker. lights fade

Lights come up on a teenage boy
sitting in the back of a army personnel
truck with a few other older soldiers.


Soldier 1
I cant believe we are finally going to be deported into Iraq.

Soldier 3
I know its about time anything is better than just standing at the barracks.

Soldier 2
you got that right! [laughs a little]

Soldier 1
[whispers to the others] Who is that guy over there?

soldier 2
[whispers back] I don't know but he looks barely over seventeen.

soldier 3
According to the army, that's old enough to kill.

The other two mutter in
agreement, lights fade.

Lights come up on Jim and matty
sitting in lawn chairs.

Hey Jim guess what?

Matty
Your my best friend right? I mean you wont think I am crazy if I tell you this will you?

Jim
No, of course not. Whats on your mind?

I dont think the world is gonna last much longer. I think its gonna be destroyed.
